I’ve been in this business for over 15 years and I can’t tell you how many Social Security (SS) seminars I’ve been pitched by IMOs.
Why do IMOs pitch me? Because for many I’m like the “Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval” in this industry. As you know, I don’t like much in our industry, but when I say I do like something, there is a high degree it will work (see www.pomplanning.net where with my endorsement over 250 advisors have become licensed and have brought in over $575 million in new AUM in just over three years).
Why don’t I like other SS seminar platforms I’ve been pitched?
-They are expensive (I’m not into dinner seminars).
-They don’t have real training for the agents who use them. It’s not good enough to just send out mailers and give an agent a PowerPoint. If you don’t fully train the agent on the subject matter, they can’t possibly be real problem solvers for clients (they become product peddlers instead).
-The goal is already predetermined. I wanted to find a platform that was agnostic to the outcome. The outcome could be annuities, it could be the POM Planning low drawdown risk AUM platform, it could be single premium life, etc.

It’s tough to say what’s most important about the SS system, but what I really like about it is the TRAINING. Far too often advisors throw money at SS seminars but have no idea how to give the seminar or how to help clients.
This system is complete in that advisors can get fully trained not only on the subject matter, but trained in how to give the seminar, and how to work with and provide solutions to clients.
I can’t stand plate licker seminars. I don’t want people showing up for food. I want them coming to hear what advisors have to say.
